I’m Kiran Mathews. I like to learn, build things, and figure out how businesses work.

I work where networking, systems software and functional safety meet. At Bosch Corporate Research my focus is the software-defined vehicle: from vehicle to cloud and back, resource orchestration inside the vehicle, and diagnostics. Right now I’m building tools for white-box software safety analysis, borrowing techniques from reverse engineering and penetration testing. Before that, my research was on reliable wireless networks for industrial automation. I still love coding, though these days it’s mostly harness engineering: getting agents to write the code, then investigating the chaos they leave behind. I try to write about all of it here, and the business stuff goes on Substack.
